Hook and Ladder: NFL Week 8

ny-giants-steve-smith.jpg The Hook: New York Giants at the Pittsburgh Steelers

Through seven weeks of the NFL season, Eli Manning has been using Steve Smith and Derrick Ward as his personal security blankets--each of them have are catching over 80% of the balls thrown their way. Look for the Steelers to confuse Elisha by using their zone-blitzing to disrupt the routes that Smith and Ward want to run. If forced to go elsewhere, Plaxico Burress has only caught 53% of his looks.

While Ben Roethlisberger may still pine for Burress to be a Steeler, Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward are playing some great football. Look for them to get over the top on second-year cornerback Aaron Ross early and often.

Our prediction: Steelers 23 - Giants 17

The Ladder:

2. Colts v Titans
After the travesty that was last season's game, we hope to see a real game this time around.

3. Chargers v Saints
Perhaps the brisk air and fish and chips will help heal LT's injury issues, and we hope that Drew can throw in the breeze.

4. Cardinals v Panthers
The battle of two formerly washed-up quarterbacks who have once again found the magic.

5. Rams v Patriots
The once hapless Rams can't do it again, can they?

Agreed. No posts since the Browns game, and now a poor, terse, anti Giants post? Come on.

This isn't a Giants Blog OZ and G-Man, and since this is a brand new site, there hasn't been a change.

Mike-
I think I know whats going on... you saw one of CoverTwo.com's (all-NFL Blog) articles on the Giants page, due to this article being about the Giants. You have to click on the Big Blue 101 Icon to go to the actual Giants Blog
